Overlaying of raster image on thinkgeo map in different projections

Hi,

I am using Map suite Desktop Edition.

I have one requirement from long days back, that is I wanted to overlay Weather charts(which I have in .jpeg format and different projection images) on thinkgeo map. I georeferenced Mercator projected images in QGIS and found rectangle points and overlaying on Map successfully.

But I am unable to georeference Polar stereographic images and unable overlay properly on map.

For example…
The following Spherical mercator projection image I am able to overlay on map

And the following Polar stereographic projection image I am unable to georeference properly and overlay on map.

Please give me any ideas to work out this.

Thanks
Ashok

Hi Ashok,

I think that’s should related with your base map.

If your base map is something like Google map, we cannot make it render well under the projection you mentioned, but you can have a try to set this property: ProjectionFromSphericalMercator

And if you are using something like shape file to render the base map I guess you can get a better result, you can see our online sample: Use a different projection for a feature layer in https://samples.thinkgeo.com/webedition/howdoisamples/

Before that, please make sure the id of Polar stereographic projection, I think you can try to find that in the websites like: http://epsg.io/ or http://spatialreference.org

Wish that’s helpful.
