Version 10 license file

Hi

After reading the license guide http://wiki.thinkgeo.com/wiki/map_suite_license_guide,
I still have a few questions about the runtime license file for version 10 (desktop Wpf).

The runtime license file is created by specifying the exe that will use it.

  1. Do I need to create a new license file if I make a new build of the exe?

  2. What if the new build changes some properties of the exe, like product version or name - will it work with the old license file?

  3. Can the license file be distributed, so that all our customers use copies of the same license file?

  4. Do they need an internet connection so you can check the validity of the license file on a server or will it work offline?

  5. Can the Product center application somehow create the file from command line on a machine without an activated developer license (like a build server)?

Thanks for your attention to my questions

Best regards
Jonas

Hi Jonas,

  1. If you only modify the code for the project, you don’t need build new license. But if you build a new project you need to build a new license.

  2. The old license file still works.

  3. Yes, you can just copy that to your customers.

4.When you generate the license file, you need keep internet connect, but when you distribute that you don’t need to do that.

5.We don’t have the command line for new V10 for now.

Wish that’s helpful.

Regards,

Ethan
