# Caching or indexing on FileGDB layers

Is&nbsp;there&nbsp;any&nbsp;way&nbsp;to&nbsp;index&nbsp;or&nbsp;cache&nbsp;the&nbsp;FileGDB&nbsp;layers?&nbsp;I’m&nbsp;using&nbsp;several&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;current&nbsp;project&nbsp;and&nbsp;they&nbsp;seem&nbsp;to&nbsp;run&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit&nbsp;slower&nbsp;than&nbsp;a&nbsp;shapefile.&nbsp;

Hi&nbsp;Clay,&nbsp;  
&nbsp;&nbsp;  
&nbsp;Sorry&nbsp;our&nbsp;index&nbsp;file&nbsp;only&nbsp;support&nbsp;shape&nbsp;file.&nbsp;&nbsp;  
&nbsp;&nbsp;  
&nbsp;And&nbsp;if&nbsp;you&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;open&nbsp;cache&nbsp;for&nbsp;that,&nbsp;I&nbsp;think&nbsp;you&nbsp;can&nbsp;try&nbsp;to&nbsp;add&nbsp;FileGeoDatabaseFeatureLayer&nbsp;to&nbsp;LayerOverlay,&nbsp;then&nbsp;open&nbsp;cache&nbsp;on&nbsp;overlay&nbsp;level.&nbsp;  
&nbsp;&nbsp;
