# Installation of a Daily Production Build

I've&nbsp;never&nbsp;installed&nbsp;a&nbsp;MapSuite&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Production&nbsp;Build&nbsp;and&nbsp;would&nbsp;like&nbsp;to&nbsp;make&nbsp;sure&nbsp;I&nbsp;understand&nbsp;how&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;it&nbsp;before&nbsp;I&nbsp;attempt&nbsp;this.

For&nbsp;WpfDeskTopEdition&nbsp;are&nbsp;the&nbsp;production&nbsp;build&nbsp;dll's&nbsp;simply&nbsp;copied&nbsp;into&nbsp;the&nbsp;"C:\Program&nbsp;Files&nbsp;(x86)\ThinkGeo\Map&nbsp;Suite&nbsp;Wpf&nbsp;Desktop&nbsp;Full&nbsp;Edition&nbsp;6.0\Developer&nbsp;Reference\WPF&nbsp;Desktop&nbsp;Edition"&nbsp;directory?

And&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;same&nbsp;true&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Spatial&nbsp;Extensions&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;'strong&nbsp;named'&nbsp;directories?

&nbsp;

I&nbsp;also&nbsp;use&nbsp;the&nbsp;MapSuite&nbsp;GeoCoder.&nbsp;&nbsp;That&nbsp;production&nbsp;build&nbsp;has&nbsp;an&nbsp;msi&nbsp;file&nbsp;so&nbsp;how&nbsp;do&nbsp;I&nbsp;upgrade&nbsp;that?

After&nbsp;copying&nbsp;those&nbsp;in&nbsp;I&nbsp;would&nbsp;have&nbsp;to&nbsp;update&nbsp;the&nbsp;references&nbsp;in&nbsp;my&nbsp;applications&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;new&nbsp;versions.

I&nbsp;would&nbsp;actually&nbsp;not&nbsp;recommend&nbsp;overwriting&nbsp;the&nbsp;existing&nbsp;dlls&nbsp;you&nbsp;have&nbsp;at&nbsp;"C:\Program&nbsp;Files&nbsp;(x86)\ThinkGeo\Map&nbsp;Suite&nbsp;Wpf&nbsp;Desktop&nbsp;Full&nbsp;Edition&nbsp;6.0\Developer&nbsp;Reference\".&nbsp;  
  
  
  
If&nbsp;you&nbsp;do,&nbsp;you&nbsp;will&nbsp;not&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;revert&nbsp;back&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;original&nbsp;release&nbsp;dlls.&nbsp;Normally&nbsp;with&nbsp;Production&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Build&nbsp;packages&nbsp;you&nbsp;should&nbsp;not&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;revert&nbsp;back&nbsp;but&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;hassle&nbsp;to&nbsp;reinstall&nbsp;the&nbsp;entire&nbsp;Map&nbsp;Suite&nbsp;WPF&nbsp;Development&nbsp;tool&nbsp;just&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;back&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;original&nbsp;release&nbsp;dlls.&nbsp;  
  
  
  
I&nbsp;would&nbsp;recommend&nbsp;creating&nbsp;a&nbsp;seperate&nbsp;directory&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;entire&nbsp;set&nbsp;of&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Production&nbsp;Dlls&nbsp;(including&nbsp;the&nbsp;Spatial&nbsp;Extensions&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Strong&nbsp;Named&nbsp;dlls)&nbsp;that&nbsp;you&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;try&nbsp;out.&nbsp;You&nbsp;can&nbsp;then&nbsp;go&nbsp;into&nbsp;Visual&nbsp;Studio,&nbsp;remove&nbsp;the&nbsp;individual&nbsp;reference/dlls&nbsp;from&nbsp;your&nbsp;project&nbsp;and&nbsp;create&nbsp;references&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;'new'&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Production&nbsp;Build&nbsp;dlls.&nbsp;  
  
If&nbsp;you&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;revert&nbsp;back&nbsp;you&nbsp;simply&nbsp;remove&nbsp;the&nbsp;dlls&nbsp;you&nbsp;just&nbsp;referenced&nbsp;and&nbsp;make&nbsp;references&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;original&nbsp;release&nbsp;dlls.&nbsp;  
  
  
  
If&nbsp;you&nbsp;have&nbsp;a&nbsp;seperate&nbsp;directory&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Build&nbsp;Dlls&nbsp;it&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;easier&nbsp;for&nbsp;you&nbsp;to&nbsp;verify&nbsp;that&nbsp;all&nbsp;the&nbsp;Map&nbsp;Suite&nbsp;dlls&nbsp;you&nbsp;have&nbsp;referenced&nbsp;are&nbsp;from&nbsp;the&nbsp;same&nbsp;Daily&nbsp;Build&nbsp;package.&nbsp;While&nbsp;you&nbsp;can&nbsp;check&nbsp;the&nbsp;Version&nbsp;number&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;reference&nbsp;by&nbsp;simply&nbsp;checking&nbsp;out&nbsp;its&nbsp;Properties&nbsp;in&nbsp;Visual&nbsp;Studio&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;sometimes&nbsp;helpful&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;also&nbsp;see&nbsp;the&nbsp;exact&nbsp;path&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Propeties&nbsp;that&nbsp;you&nbsp;got&nbsp;the&nbsp;reference&nbsp;from.&nbsp;  
  
  
  
Updates&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;Geocoder&nbsp;work&nbsp;in&nbsp;much&nbsp;the&nbsp;same&nbsp;way&nbsp;except&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;don't&nbsp;have&nbsp;Dll&nbsp;Packs&nbsp;for&nbsp;it.&nbsp;You&nbsp;will&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;install&nbsp;the&nbsp;.msi&nbsp;find&nbsp;the&nbsp;Geocoder.dll&nbsp;and&nbsp;reference&nbsp;this&nbsp;new&nbsp;dll&nbsp;in&nbsp;your&nbsp;project.

This&nbsp;lists&nbsp;all&nbsp;the&nbsp;dlls&nbsp;that&nbsp;our&nbsp;control&nbsp;uses&nbsp;and&nbsp;where&nbsp;they&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;reside&nbsp;when&nbsp;you&nbsp;deploy&nbsp;your&nbsp;application.
