# IsoLines Exception - "Input data must be more detailized to build isolines."

When&nbsp;I&nbsp;attempt&nbsp;to&nbsp;build&nbsp;isolines&nbsp;with&nbsp;certain&nbsp;data,&nbsp;an&nbsp;exception&nbsp;occurs&nbsp;which&nbsp;causes&nbsp;a&nbsp;System&nbsp;Message&nbsp;Box&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;shown&nbsp;between&nbsp;10&nbsp;and&nbsp;20&nbsp;times&nbsp;and&nbsp;then&nbsp;my&nbsp;application&nbsp;crashes.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;System&nbsp;Message&nbsp;boxes&nbsp;all&nbsp;contain&nbsp;a&nbsp;stack&nbsp;trace&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;exception&nbsp;message&nbsp;"Error&nbsp;performing&nbsp;operation.&nbsp;Please&nbsp;Try&nbsp;Again.&nbsp;System.SystemException:&nbsp;Input&nbsp;data&nbsp;must&nbsp;be&nbsp;more&nbsp;detailized&nbsp;to&nbsp;build&nbsp;isolines."

The&nbsp;exception&nbsp;appears&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;related&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;width&nbsp;and&nbsp;height&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;currentDrawingExtent&nbsp;defined&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;CreateGridFile&nbsp;method&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;isolines&nbsp;code.&nbsp;&nbsp;When&nbsp;I&nbsp;use&nbsp;the&nbsp;CurrentExtent&nbsp;of&nbsp;winfromsMap1,&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;currentDrawingExtent&nbsp;the&nbsp;isolines&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;shown.&nbsp;&nbsp;When&nbsp;use&nbsp;ExtentHelper.GetDrawingExtent&nbsp;and&nbsp;define&nbsp;a&nbsp;width&nbsp;and&nbsp;height&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;lat/lons&nbsp;defined&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;data&nbsp;it&nbsp;produces&nbsp;the&nbsp;exception&nbsp;(however&nbsp;it&nbsp;only&nbsp;happens&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;data&nbsp;&nbsp;sets&nbsp;out&nbsp;of&nbsp;20&nbsp;or&nbsp;more).&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;exception&nbsp;does&nbsp;not&nbsp;occur&nbsp;in&nbsp;CreateGridFile&nbsp;but&nbsp;appears&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;happening&nbsp;deep&nbsp;within&nbsp;the&nbsp;MapSuite&nbsp;code&nbsp;when&nbsp;the&nbsp;winformsMap1.Refresh&nbsp;is&nbsp;being&nbsp;executed.

Ideally,&nbsp;&nbsp;I&nbsp;would&nbsp;like&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;the&nbsp;meaning&nbsp;of&nbsp;this&nbsp;exception&nbsp;and&nbsp;how&nbsp;to&nbsp;test&nbsp;or&nbsp;modify&nbsp;the&nbsp;width&nbsp;and&nbsp;height&nbsp;to&nbsp;prevent&nbsp;this&nbsp;exception.&nbsp;&nbsp;At&nbsp;a&nbsp;minimum,&nbsp;I&nbsp;need&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;how&nbsp;to&nbsp;capture&nbsp;this&nbsp;exception&nbsp;and&nbsp;prevent&nbsp;it&nbsp;from&nbsp;occuring&nbsp;10-20&nbsp;times&nbsp;and&nbsp;then&nbsp;aborting&nbsp;my&nbsp;application.
