Blank Tiles with Unlicensed Text

Good Morning,


Having some problems with Map Suite Web - all I currently see is white background with the red word "Unlicensed" everywhere. This also happens in the Sample Application that ships with Map Suite. Interestingly enough prior to installing the new version I was getting maps if I ran the application without debugging (using the ASP.NET Development Server) - although your sample app never worked. Since I never needed to debug it didn't bug me until then.


Using Fiddler I can see that each request for a tile comes back with a status of 200 - so I am assuming that something is going on under the covers with Map Suite that is stopping or prohibbiting the map rendering.


I am using Visual Studio 2008 (I also just verified that this is the happening with the last version of my project in VS 2005) and the ASP.NET Development Server. I just installed the latest version of Map Suite Web Edition from the customer portal (I entered my license key during install). In both my application and the sample application the GIS files are local on my machine.


Kind of dead in the water at this point - so any help would be appreciated.

 It seems you are using the Map Suite Web Full Edition which is not registered correctly. You can find “MapSuiteRegistrationBuilder.exe” under “[Installed Folder]\ThinkGeo\Map Suite Web Evaluation Edition 3.0\Miscellaneous\Map Suite Registration Builder”. Run it to generate a request key and email to support@thinkgeo.com; we’ll register for you and send you back a license key which need to be imported into the tool; then complete the registration.

 I thought that only had to be done for a production machine - not a development machine. This is my development machine…

 Not exactly right. The one I mentioned  above is for debugging which you mean development machine.So the white background with red watermark is this situation. Please register it.  
  
 If you want to deploy the map without watermark, you need another license called deploy license. It should be registered on the production machine.

Hi Howard, 
  
 I just got this response from Ryan in support after trying to register the file: 
  
 Our records show that you redeemed a Web Server license on XX/XX/XXX. This redemption exhausted your available Web Server licenses, so you will need to contact your sales representative to purchase a second Web Server license before I can supply you with a license key. 
  
 Any ideas what I should do now?

 I think Ryan has given you a license key and you need to import it with the registration tool manually. Please have a try.
