Change the design of the pan zoom controls

Is there a way that I can override the styles used for the pan and zoom controls? The controls do not match our design and we would like to be able to customize it to what we would like it to look like.  Is this possible and if not will it be available soon?

Hi Jeremy, 
  
 Currently, we don’t support changing the design by server-side code, but you can simply change the pan zoom bar icons which we are using.  
  
 All the icons are placed at “project folder/theme/default/img”, please replace the images below with your own icons having the same size. 
  
 West_mini.gif ;  
 north_mini.gif;  
 east_mini.gif;   
 south_mini.gif;   
 zoom_world_mini.gif;  
 zoombar.gif;  
 slider.gif;  
 zoom_plus_mini.gif;  
 zoom_minus_mini.gif 
  
 Also, as we have client APIs, it’s possible to implement by JavaScript.
