This is a continuation of Post 7086. I don't get any exceptions when using the <%=Map1.ClientID%>.SetDrawMode, but this causes a postback and does not change the draw mode. Please help. Thanks

If you use server control to change the draw mode, it will cause a postback default. Here is a simple sample for you, you could refer to it. If you want to set more draw modes on the client side, please refer to DrawEditShapes sample in our installed samples which you can find its source code at “Samples\MapShapes\DrawEditShapes.aspx”.
