Converting Meters to Decimal Degrees without changing projection

We have new set of shape files that are ESPG:3832, centered on the Pacific Ocean. This projection is in meters. Using the projection converter to ESPG:4326 changes the center of the map, we do not want this. How can we convert the units to decimal degrees and still keep the map projection?

Hi @James_Ridley,

I’m a little confused when you say it ‘changes the center of the map’. The map extent should not change based on the projection. Is there somewhere in your code where you hard-code the map extent, or set it to the extent of a shapefile?

Maybe you could attach a small code sample here or send it to support@thinkgeo.com and we can better understand what the issue is?
