Create shapefile

Hi,


I am new to Map Suite and was wondering if someone can help me.  I had a look at the web edition 3.0 samples but did not find what I was looking for.  I need to enable users to draw shapes on a map and save the shapes to shape files.  If they log in again they must be able to see their layer of the shapes that they draw.  Is this possible in the web edition and do you have some examples of how to save to a shape file? The samples shows drawing and editing of shapes but in memory only.
