Day / Night Border

Hi all,


Wondering if anyone has a method to create an overlay that will cover areas currently experiencing darkness with a black transparency, something like timeanddate.com/worldclock/sunearth.html. I would assume this would be a drawn shape, and not a shapefile.  


Also, is there an available source for an internation time zone shapefile?

 Currently, I don’t have the available source for an international time zone shape file or shape for you; although it’s quite simple to implement it using InMemoryFeatureLayer with half transparent area style if we have data. 
  
 We need to do some research on it and let you know when we have a result.

 Thanks for the response.  Would you happen to have any comments on the day/night border?  This would be a great feature for me to have in my map, but I have no idea how I would go about making it.  Thanks!

Here is some information about the "World Time Zones":

Now for the daylight map according to the time and date is more complicated; the logic is based on the position of the zenith of the sun, the tilt of the earth, etc.



Google has a dynamic map for that; hope it helps.
