Displaying KML files

Hi all,


I've come into possesion of a few .kml files that I would like to display on my map.  Currently, I'm using all .shp files, so I've never had the please of working with this type of file before.  I can't seem to locate any info on using these files, either.  Might someone give me a brief rundown on if and how I can use these files?  Thank you

We don’t intrinsically support KML but if you understand KML pretty well, you can add the support yourself very easily. Here attached is a sample which supports the simplest KML (with one point), please have a look.

Thanks very much for the response Ben.  I did find the KML spec, and while it does seem to be doable, seems very time consuming for something that won’t be used very often by us.  As such, I found an online converter that changes KML to SHP files at:  zonums.com/online/kml2shp.php
