Error Opening Shapefile Layer

Hello,

I got an Shapefile from a customer. He want’s to open it in my Application (using MapSuite 7).

An Error occurs relating the Version of the DBF-File. Are there limitations? As far as I know, he create all his Shapefiles with “QGIS” (QGIS)



Any help appreciated

Hi Torsten,



I found this issue is related with the encoding of the dbf file when saving it in QGIS. We tried the QGIS in our end and when we try to open the shapefile feature layer you provide to us with QGIS, then Right-click the “Layer” menu item, choose “Save as” button. Then we choose the encoding as UTF-8.
After that, the shape file can be opened in map suite!
