Geographical data

Hi,


Excuse me for my ignorance, I'm new to GIS...


I understand that I can use Map Suite to build custom routing solutions.


In my case I need to create my own custom map. For exaple consider a theme park that has numerous attractions and walking paths leading trhough it.


I'm wondering how I should create the geographical data file that holds the data points (attractions)  and routes (walking paths)


Do you happen to have a link to an example similar to my request?


Is this custom mapping/routing solution also possible in Silverlight?

Thanks for the post, hope my following answer can give you some helps.
 
1) MapSuite Suite Routing Extension is targeting kinds of various data source, differing from ShapeFile data to kinds of Database data. I am not sure what kind of data will be considering your attractions and walking paths.

2) Of course, this custom solution is also possible in Silverlight. In fact, RouingExtentsion can be used with any of our Map Suite components (Service Edition, Desktop Edition, Sliverlight Edition and Web Edition) depending on which platform and technique you are trying to achieve.
 
When you trying to use with Sliverlight edition, you need to install MapSuite Silverlight Edition product. Attachment is a sample showing how to render map and get route in Silverlight.
 
Just a reminder in this sample you should add the relative data to App_Data folder from MapSuite Routing installer folder
