GetScale: what value is used for "screen width"?

I would like to know what parameter should be supplied for the "screen width" when using the "GetScale" method?

The documentation states "parameter is screen width". Is this the width of the actual monitor or the width of the map control?

GetScale(RectangleShape, Single, GeographyUnit)

 Thanks for your post and questions. 
  
 The Screen Width should reflect the screen width for the Rectangle Shape of the first parameter, if the passed in rectangle shape is the current extent of the map control, then the screen width should be the width of the map control. These two parameters should be related to each other.
