Hi Guys,
GetShortestLineTo does its job nicely, sorting out which way to go, producing a neat Great Circle and handling the 180 meridian, good stuff.
In the Marine world people have this thing about not hitting the land, it can often spoil your entire day, tends to annoy the indigenous population of whatever you hit and results in outrageously large amounts of paperwork. Thus there are occasions where the ShortestLine, which, in ThinkGeo terms, always seems to be a Great Circle should be a Rhumb Line or a straight line when projected on a Mercator map, this helps avoid the land and the associated paperwork.
Would it be possible to add a parameter to the GetShortestLineTo to have it work as it does at the moment but give the choice of the output being a Great Circle or a straight/Rhumb line?
Regards
John
