Hi! hello there, I am asking if the map in GIS Map can be used in routing and geocoding? Do I need to code so much with this?
GIS Map for Routing
Hi JOSEPH,
Thank you very much for paying attention to map suite products,
actually, the US across Geocoding has been built-in in the Gis editor, you can
open the “Place Search” dock panel by selected the following item:
After opening this panel, there is just one textbox for
inputting the place name and a button for search, it’s really straight forward,
also you can geocode with a specified shape file or a couldLayer by selecting
the corresponding item.
The Routing module plugin for Gis Editor is in development
now, it will be released following the Map Suite 8.0 major release on schedule
in May 2014, but if you would like to have a try in advanced, could you contact
support@thinkgeo.com for this
requirement? Following are some videos about how to route with partial of these
developing functionality in Gis Editor:

Directions

Besides these functionality, this plugin will also allow
us to:
- Adding “Avoiding Barriers” by drawing on the map
or importing from a Map Suite supported file. - Generate a class-break driving service area
based on “Driving Time” or “Driving Distance”. - Applying the POI informations or layers to the
route result to make sure we can search an area following the route path. - More Routing Style settings and Route Segment
information search.
Thanks and best regards!
