Handling Dynamic Data

Hey all.


I am a complete newbie on MapSuite but it seems that software potential is huge !


I would like to know if there's a sample showing how to get info from a datasource (DB, WebService, XML file etc...) and dynamically display the infos (localized) on a layer.


My needs are basic, i guess, as i plan to use an overlay layer (based on openstreetmap) then display different layers on it (based on calculated data -> @(X,Y) -> display a marker etc.

I am little bit confused with GeoDBF -> do i need to create a local 'database' (creating columns, adding records that would be the data i want to render/plot on the map ? etc.).


I think i would have to use an 'inMemoryFeatureLayer' to do this ?

We have MsSql2008FeatureLayer, OracleFeatureLayer, PostgreSqlFeatureLayer for clear database, you can find samples to show you how to use them in HowDoISamples--->DataProviders.  And also we have some way to deal with other format database, please see the link below:

And you can learn how to use openstreetmap with HowDoISamples-->Overlays-->UseOpenStreetMap.aspx.
