i am a newbie in the gis area
what is idx file, i have download shp files but they dont have idx files and i am getting exceptions when i am adding them o the mapform, do i have to have idx files?
another question regarding the api, i want to show a map of city and when a user click ona house (train station) the map of the train station will be shown - is there a quick api for that?

The idx file (along with its accompanying ids file) is the spatial index used by Map Suite to speed up the drawing, doing spatial queries and various other operations. To build the spatial index, you can use the static method BuildIndexFile of ShapeFileFeatureLayer or simply build it using MapSuiteExplorer. That method has various overloads and allows to have various indexes for the same layer using different projections. It also allows filtering records of a same layer. Unfortunately, we don’t have a concise documentation on that subject but we are working on it. In the meantime, I suggest you search that subject in the discussion Forum, there are many post on that if you want to learn more.
Regarding the second question, can you elaborate a little bit on what type of map you want to show? Is it an image of the map of the train station that will show up?
