Import DWG/DXF file format

Hi,

For ThinkGeo Desktop 8.0, how can I import dxf file by layer? It looks like there is no layer name information for your cad class.

Another question is, is this possible to import dwg (by layer) file into ThinkGeo map?

I found there are some dlls in the path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkGeo\Map Suite 8.0\Shared Developer Reference\SysWOW64(on X64 Platform) or System32(on X86 Platform)\CadX64
so I guess you might use OpenDesign.com solution to import cad files,
can I directly use those dlls? can you give some code examples?

Best regards
Ray

Hi Zhu,

The CadFeatureLayer is used to load the “*.dxf” file. You can download a sample at http://wiki.thinkgeo.com/wiki/map_suite_services_edition_layers_featuresources_samples?s[]=cad&s[]=featurelayer#cad_featurelayer.

Yes, we use OpenDesign to import the cad files and we paid for it, but I don’t know if you can use it directly.

Peter
