Does the desktop map control have any built-in gui elements like a slider for zooming? Basically something similar to google's navigation control.

Thanks for your post and interests in MapSuite components.
I am sorry to say that the desktop edition do not contains those built-in GUI elements like slider which did exists in our web edition.
In desktop edition control, there are some adorment layers which is integrated for easy use, like Logo, ScaleLine, ScaleBar, GraticuleLine etc.
