PDF printing, HatchStyle brush

About a year ago (20 Mar 2009) David from ThinkGeo wrote this in 'PDF Extension' topic of 'Developer Blog'


"I think it is the HatchStyle, we haven't implemented it yet. I can't remember if it was PdfSharp that didn't have it working yet or we had not finished it. I will check and let you know. In any event the error message should be more descriptive! "


Now I've just downloaded the newest versions of PdfExtension and PdfSharp from ThinkGeo and the HatchStyle brush is still not working. I know it is a minor thing, yet a set of minor things like this prevent us from wrapping up the project. Is there any workaround? How difficult would be to implement the feature? Could I do it and 'donate' the code?

 We don’t support it now. I suggest that you could raise a ticket for this new feature in the ServiceEdition so that our professional personnel will handler it quickly.

Well Khalil, I wish I could figure out how to raise a ticket in ServiceEdition. I have all sort of options, none of them being ServiceEdition. So I’m at a dead-end. Please help.

   The reason we did not have it  was that PDF sharp has not implemented it.  If you want to donate the code we would be happy to put it in.  I will let support know you cannot create a ticket for the Servies Edition.  One note is that Khalil is mistaken on the ticket part.  Since this is a third part library we rarely make changes to them especially one this specialized.  I am pretty sure professional services is not going to be able to add this.  Searching PDFSharp again it seems like there is no progress on the HatchBrush.  If you really need this then I would suggest you contact PDFSharp to have them add it or take a crack at it yourself.

I checked your account and it seems you have several support tickets available. To add a request for Map Suite Services please look for the "Map Suite Map Services Edition" entry.

 I would open a ticket, but I'm hazy where. Why in Map Suite Map Services Edition and not in Web Edition? I am using Web Edition afterall. Or could it be that Web Edition is a superset that includes Services Edition?

 Thanks for your questions. 
  
 I think the reason to raise this issue in Service Edition instead of Web Edition is that PdfSharp is a Core functionality in MapSuiteCore, which will be used in Desktop Edition, Web & Sliver light Editions.  
  
 MapSuite Web Edition cannot solve this problem separately because this functionality belongs to MapSuiteCore, and the Web Team may not as familiar as Service Team about this issue. 
  
 While, about the HatchStyle, the reason we do not support it is as David mentioned above, the PdfSharp do not support it. So, I am very sorry to say that we cannot support it until the PdfSharp support the HatchBrush first. Hope this can save one ticket for you.
