Problem with Oracle Spatial

Hi,


I am considering purchasing the Map Suite for desktop for my company but I have some problems making it work.

Currently we are using Oracle Spatial to store all our feature layers. We are currently using Oracle 9.2i (might upgrade to 10.2g in the future). When I open the oraclelayer component (like in your example) I am getting an exception "Unable to find an entry point named 'OCILobCopy2' in DLL 'oci.dll'."  and then I get ORA-00904 "TABLENAME"."BOUND"...



Does version 3 of the map suite support Oracle 9i?

If this is not the problem I would appreciate some input on how to fix this.

The Oracle we are testing with is 11.1g and I’m not sure whether we support 9.2i or 10.2g edition. I checked it in google and someone said we can disable throwing the System.EntryPointNotFoundException in the Debug | Exceptions... dialog in the Visual Studio. I don’t know if it works though but you can have a quick try.
 
If it is show stopper that keeps you from purchasing the product, please let us know and we can send you the source code of OracleFeatureLayer and OracleFeatureSource, with which I think you can figure it out easily. Please send your letter to support@thinkgeo.com and ask to forward to Ben, I will then send the source code to you. Please share back your idea about the codes so we can keep making it better.
