Projection Converter not working correctly for WmsAsyncLayer

We are using v14.3.2. I am in the process of making sure everything still works as we upgrade from v10. When we apply a ProjectionConverter (GdalProjectionConverter) to a WmsAsyncLayer it no longer precisely aligns with a shapefile that is in the Projection to which we are converting (in this case, Srid 3857 to 100203). The tiles that are being drawn do not have straight sides and are ‘bulging’ slightly. I have attached a sample project to demonstrate. There is a button to click that switches between projected and not projected for the WmsAsyncLayer.
