Raster reprojection

Hi,


Does MapSuite supports raster reprojection from one coordinate system to another coordinate system? If so then how is the reprojection done? Is it simple affine transformation or rigorous raster reprojection?

 We don’t support raster projection for now. 
  
 There is one hack which might work for small images, that is projecting raster file’s bounding box in world file. Here is how to do it: step 1: Get the bounding box of a raster file; step 2: project the bounding box to the target projection; 3, update the world file manually based on the projected bounding box.  
  
 As I said, this is not a “right” way to do the projection, but for some cases it works.

I have a need to reproject raster data set and since this is an old post, I would like to know if Map Suite now has the functionality to reproject Rasters (4/5/2012)?

Rod,


 As you saw in my response in the support ticket, the rotation and projection of the image layers is one of the highest ranked topics in the Enhancement Tracker

The Development team should give me a concrete answer tomorrow  on when this new feature is planned to be added. I will let you know.
