Hello,


I am new with Think Geo. I actually want to know about Shape File (.shp). Can anybody tell me what is the use of Shape File and how it will be make? Where actually it is used?

This a broad topic. If you are new to programming with Map Suite and have no or little GIS experience, I would first read about some high level GIS concepts such as Data representation or layer and then read about shapefiles which is one very common standard of data representation. So I would read this article first: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIS#Data_representation and then read about shapefile en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapefile. After reading that, I think you should have the necessary background to understand how shapefiles and layers in general are used in MapSuite.
