Supported File Types

Could someone please provide me with a list of supported file types for Desktop 3.0?


We are currently using shape files with Mr. SID but we would like to know our options.


If possible we would like to try .NCX files

Welcome to the community, hope you enjoy learning and sharing here. 


I've never heard of NCX format and I didn't get much about it from google, could you tell me more about that format? 


In Desktop 3.0, we support all the common gis formats like shape file, Postgre, Oracle, MSSql2008, etc. And for raster layers, we support Tiff, MrSid, Jpeg2000, ECW, Bmp, Png, Jpg, Gif etc. Also with the help of 3rd part assemblies, we will have an extension to support most GDAL / OGR data type. Here is the list.

With the great scalability of Map Suite, you can easily extend it to consume all kinds of data type yourself easily. Here is an example how to make it consume MS Access, please have a look.
