Thanks for your post, from a Map Suite API standpoint the WPF and Desktop Edition are very similar and I don’t think you will have many problems.
Outside of Map Suite there are quite a few differences when designing forms and user interfaces in WPF versus Winforms, if you aren’t familiar with XAML you may want to do some reading on it as it’s used within WPF for layout and styling.
The Map Suite WPF Edition does have some extra features that the Desktop Edition doesn’t. You can check these features out under the “New Features compared to Current Desktop Edition” section of the How Do I samples that come with the Map Suite WPF Edition. I think you will be pleased with some of the extra functionality WPF gives you.
