"the operation could not be completed" error

Hello everybody,


I'm going to set up the last version of Map Suite Web Edition in my website.


I remove the previous control (<cc1:map ......), the reference (in the page and in the website) and the toolbox item.


I put the new items in the toolbox and I drag and drop the component. An error appears : "the operation could not be completed".


 


I can't put the component in my page !


 


Does anyone has encountered this problem?

I circumvented the problem by replacing only the dlls.


 


But now, the component has a weird behavior. It's still surrounded by an UpdatePanel but on each panel refresh (click on the map, trace finish, mode change, edition, ...), the component do a ZoomOut. It's the same if I remove the UpdatePanel (I also try in the samples and it's the same).


 


Is there something to change/add/remove from the last version?

 We couldn’t recreate your first issue, here is what we did  
  
 1. install the older version (3.0.131)  
 2. make a demo and the map displays correctly  
 3. delete the map item in the toolbox  
 4. download a new DLL package version of web edition,  
 5. add the new map component in the toolbox with the new DLL,  
 6. on the aspx-page, remove the old map, drag-drop the new one to the page, then it alerts “A file with the name ‘Bin/WebEdition.dll’ already exists, Do you want to replace it?”, Click Yes to apply this operation,  
 7. Map is on the page and it works fine now.  
  
 Did we miss anything?  
  
 About your 2nd message, it’s a known issue that the map zooms out after POSTBACK. It’ll be fixed in the next version which will release around this weekend. Sorry for making you inconvenient.

It's almost that way I proceed :



        
  1. The oldest version is installed

    2.     
  2. The component displays correctly

    3.     
  3. I uninstall the oldest version and install the new

    4.     
  4. I remove the toolbox item and I add the new item

    5.     
  5. I try to drag and drop the new item from the toolbox but the error message appears.


But the component is display correctly event if I don't change the aspx-page.

 We still didn’t recreate your issue. We tried updating 3.0.0 to 3.1.16 and updating 3.0.115 to 3.1.16, they all work fine. We are doing the test with VS2008 under Windows 2003 / Vista (64bit). 
  
 Anyway, I think it doesn’t matter too much if you do not have this issue anymore. Please let me know both of the 2 components versions if you have this issue again.
