Are you using a shape file? If so I would guess the shape file has a shape type we don’t support yet. There are many different kinds of shapes in the shape file specification but some of exotic you don’t see very often or are not practical. You might be running into one of those. If the shape file is small and you can zip up the shp, shx, and dbf then e-mail it to support@thinkgeo.com and ask they forward it to Ben. Do you happen to know if this shape file has any shapes other than Point, MultiPoint, Polygon or PolyLine?
Another reason we might not support it is because not all shapes match up with the WKT and WKB standard which is what we use internally. If we find the shape then we can consider options.
