Using both Vector and Raster Data in a map at the same time

My apologies if this has already been answered/written down somewhere but I have been unable to find it.

 

My question is:

Is it possible to use both Raster Data layers and Vector Data layers in the same map using Map Suite 2.55.0?

I have a customer who wants to use a Raster layer for the mapping but overlay an annotation layer which is in vector data format.

 

Could someone verify one way or another if this is possible please.

 We have a sample that names ImageLayerApp, it shows you to use both Raster data layers and Vector data layers in the same map using MapSuite 2.0.  Please have a look at the ImageLayerApp sample in the MapSuite 2.0 samples.
