Utilities method to get distance/area etc

Hi ThinkGeo,


Is there any helper/utilties api to get Distance  given two Lat/long without resorting to use of PointShape?

 Why don’t you want to get distance with two PointShape?  
  
 I don’t think we have some other APIs can work for that. 
  
 Maybe you can create a lineshape and get length of it, but that did the same work in fact. 
  
 Could you let us know your scenario so that we can assist you to find a solution.
