Visual Studio 2010

Hi,


Is there any reference anywhere on how to add the mapsuite desktop edition control to visual studio 2010


when i add it in the method shown in the quick start guide i get an error "Type 'ThinkGeo.MapSuite.DesktopEdition.WinformsMap' is not defined."


and the error


"'ThinkGeo' is not declared. It may be inaccessible due to its protection level."


can someone point me in the right direction please.

Hi, 
  
 Sometimes you will get that error when you are targeting an incompatible version of the .NET framework.  I was getting the error early on, then switched to a different .NET framework and the error disappeared.  I am sorry to say I don’t remember which framework was giving me the error.  With the evaluation version I am using now the 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 .NET frameworks all work.  But if you’re having an issue with the 4.0 framework, try it with 3.5 just to see what happens.

Thanks for your interests in Map Suite component. As you already noticed, this problem will be happening when you try to compile it in Client Profile shown in following screenshot. For more information about the Client Profile, see following site:

Thankyou gentlemen,


 


I changed our presentation layer to the .net framework 4 instead of .net framework 4 (client profile) and the map control worked.


Adding a quickstart guide for using Map Suite 4.0 and Visual studio 2010 would be really useful for anyone else who has this problem, just a suggestion :)

 In fact, you can also choose the .net framework3.5 as well if you want. I am glad seeing your problem solved.
