We don't support the Layer

MapSuite Team,

Over the last few months an error (“We don’t support the Layer”) is appearing occasionally. This just started a few months ago and there has been new versions of MapSuite.

The error message appears at the client in play of the imagery.

The layer is actually valid and after a few minutes it works again.

The WMS Server is using MapSuite V10.5.

What does this error message mean? Any ideas why this is occurring?

Hi Dennis,

Sorry for the delays. We found this exception was thrown only when the target layer plugin was not found. We updated WmsServer to print more debug information to help you dig into it.

Here’s something you could try:

  1. upgrade WmsServer to 11.0.0-beta008 or above(it will take one or two days before the daily build is available)
  2. set MapSuiteDebugger.LogLevel = MapSuiteLogLevel.All; in your code to make sure print all the logs;
  3. use some tools to view debug information, like DebugView.

I’m not sure what actually was causing this issue.

There were a number of hardware router upgrades on the local network that may have affected cause this issue, but not certain.

I upgraded from ThinkGeo.MapSuite.WmsServer.dll V11.0.0-beta006 to V11.0.0-beta007 and the issue has ‘gone away’.
