(Google Map, MS VE, ArcGIS Javascript API,  and ArcGIS Flex provde very smooth ZoomIn and ZoomOut animation).

 We keep the last pictures as transition but we don’t support smooth zoom in/out. That’s a very cool feature and we’ll consider adding it in the future. Thanks for reminding.
