MSI For SysWow64 DLL's

MapSuite Team,

The DLL’s listed below are all required for MrSid and need to be placed in \Windows\SysWow64 directory.

Would you by any chance have an msi for just these files so that they may be easily installed?

Hi Dennis,

We will build a new package include all necessary 100 and 120 dlls, please wait our release manager back and discuss how to implement that.

That would be great. Attached is a zip file of the SysWow64 DLL’s that I need as these match my current MapSuite Packages. Would you please use these?

I have any question about these modules. Are these not C++ distributable files? If so why are they being distributed by ThinkGeo?

These files are really hard to administer.

I created an Install Shield project with these files and only some of them actually get installed. If the file already existed and is the same version it does not get installed. I’m fine with that, but why do the dates on the files ThinkGeo provides different than the dates in \Windows\SysWow64?

Does ThinkGeo actually make changes to these modules.

Below is a screen capture from the Install Shield report. You can see the version numbers, which are the same that are already in \Windows\SysWow64. A couple of these files I know where not found in \Windows\SysWow64 so they naturally installed?

Some clarification on these files would be appreciates?

Hi Dennis,

Our developer had updated the package here: http://wiki.thinkgeo.com/wiki/map_suite_runtime_license_guide_for_desktop#deploying_applications

We hadn’t modify the dlls, we provide them is because some of machine don’t contains them but they are required for support some special data.

If you have newer version dlls you can just leave them.

Those are in an msm, which is not readily instable.

Do you have an msi package?

Hi Dennis,

We don’t have a msi for that, you can build the merge module into your installer.

If you want to get our assistant about that please let us know, we can build a special installer only include this msm for you.
